Bio

María del Sol is a two-time Regional Emmy Award-winning composer-pianist originally from Chile and based in New York City.

Her compositions, spanning solo piano, electronic, and orchestral music, are deeply driven by the emotional power of image and story—creating immersive musical worlds that capture both the intimate and the epic.

​

María del Sol has had the honor of scoring several award-winning short and feature films for various artists, including Oscar-nominated screenwriter José Rivera. She also works with multiple Regional Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Jeffrey Teitler, scoring his medical documentaries and PSA campaigns for Hartford HealthCare and Medscape. Most recently, she scored Teitler’s upcoming documentary Take This Day, which tells the story of Heather Mosher.

She is collaborating with Albania Rosario, founder and CEO of Fashion Designers of Latin America, for a live performance during their closing show at New York Fashion Week.

María del Sol studied piano performance under the exceptional artist Kemal Gekic and received her master’s degree from the Screen Scoring Graduate Program at New York University Steinhardt. There, she studied under remarkable composers John Kaefer, Chris Hajian, and five-time Emmy Award-winner Jamie Lawrence.
